I saw a comment you left over at Cup Of Joes blog for the New York series she is doing. I am also moving to New York but in Nov. up until a few weeks ago i didnt have a place to stay or job lined up either. I just knew I had to get there! i cant wait to live in the city, and have luckily somehow found a great apartment and roommate, and job (phew!)
Thought id say hello, from one alomst new to New Yorker to another :)

Sounds like an amazing trip.

Ad yes, Melbourne had a crazy storm and still raining.

I was stranded at the train station with no umbrella for 30 min until the rain quiet down and I ran to woolies to get an umbrella and the storm came back in 5 minutes. Hahaha
